Cabbagetown is one of Toronto’s only historic districts. With its heritage designation, we are limited in our ability to change, and preservation of this historic beauty is essential.
Our clients needed more space for their young family and asked about the viability of a rear addition. We brought on our architectural and design partners and planned the space for the family's needs. Older homes generally require more care and attention to rebuild. Our team of carpenters was challenged and excited by the existing conditions. They took excellent care and attention to detail to make this home structurally sound, level, and square for all the new finishes.
The rear addition allowed us to expand the kitchen, add a designated eating area, and create a principal suite. The main floor now includes a foyer with plenty of storage, a formal living room, a powder room, a wet bar and a gourmet kitchen. On the 2nd floor, the old bedrooms were reconfigured, and a designated children's bathroom was created, finally giving the kids their own space.
The basement was also upgraded to have a rec room, office, laundry and bathroom. Everyone is thrilled with the results and the collaborative approach to completing their forever home.

“What stands out to us is the attention to detail Jeremy and his team paid to every single aspect of our project. They were an integral part of the planning and design phase, laying out timelines (that were always met), staying on budget and executing the project with absolute efficiency.
The Craftsman team also did a full clean up each day, making this the cleanest project I have ever witnessed. Jeremy’s communication style is transparent and frequent, giving us complete comfort that we were always on track. Precision craftsmanship is an understatement, we were thoroughly impressed with how they were able to make everything look seamless. This was a complete transformation of our house and this project has vastly improved the way we live. We highly recommend this team who are truly at the top of their field."
